Prophylaxis against -Hepatitis b infection

Mild transcient local soreness Erythema and induration at injection site Low grade fever, malaise, nausea, Dizziness, Diarrhoea, Rash, anaphylaxis, Fatigue, arthalgia

Severe febrile conditions Not to be injected into buttock because efficacy may be reduced Special precauitions- Iif any alcohol or disinfectant is used for cleaning the skin should be allowed to evaporate before vaccination otherwise inactivation of the live vaccine may occur May be given s.c. only if risk of haemorrhage Dialysed and immnuo-compromised patients may need further doses. Risk of apnoea in premature infants. Monitor respiratory function Multiple sclerosis Have epinephrine injection available

Prophylaxis against -Hepatitis b infection

Single dose -

1ml vial by i.m. into deltoid muscle
repeated 1 month, 2 months and 12 months later

Children-  
0.5ml by i.m. into antero-lateral aspect of thigh
repeated  1 month and 6mths later
rapid imunisation 0.5ml by i.m.  repeated 1 month, 2 months and 12 months later
 

Missed dose-

1. If you miss a dose of this medicine, and remember it on the day it should be taken, take it as   directed.

2. However, if you do not remember the mised dose until the next day,take  the missed dose at that     time and  reschedule your every-other-day doses from then.

3. It is important that this vaccine be taken exactly as directed so that it can give you protection    against Hepatitis.
