Adverse Reaction:
Pruritus, ( 0.4 to 1.6% ) burning, ( 0.7 to 1.4% ) stinging, ( 0.7% ) irritation, contact dermatitis, scaling, tingling, pain, dyshidrotic eczema, ( 0.4%) folliculitis ( 0.3% ) erythema, ( 0.2% ) papules, rash. ( 0.1% )
Contra-Indications:
Hypersens to the drug
Special precautions:
Sensitivity- should sensitivity or chemical irritation occur, discontinue treatment. Avoid contact with eyes.

Apply to cover affected area, twice daily, in patients with tinea infections

OXICONAZOLE - Topical
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
Oxiconazole. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic
to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Oxiconazole has not been studied in pregnant women. However, this medication
has not been shown to cause birth defects or other problems in animal studies
3. Breast-feeding-
Topical oxiconazole passes into breast milk. Mothers who are taking this medicine
and who wish to breast feed should discuss this with their doctor.
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of topical oxiconazole
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to cause
different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
There is no specific information comparing use of oxiconazole in the elderly
with use in other age groups, it is not expected to cause different side effects
in older people than it does in younger adults.
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology:
Oxiconazole is a broad septrum antifungal for topical dermatological use.
The fungicidal activity of oxicinazole results in primarily from the inhibition of ergosterol synthesis, which is needed for cytoplasmic membrane integrity.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy:
Use during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Lactation:
Excercise caution when the drug is applied on a nursing woman.
