Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology:
Kevocetrizine binds twice as strongly to histamine H1 receptors in vitro and has a highly consistent and predictable antihistamine action in vivo. Pharmacodynamic studies inn healthy volunteers suggest that levocetrizine has at least the same activity as cetrizine
Pharmacokinetics:
Absorptin: It is rapidly absorbed after oral administration. Metabolism: Poorly metabolised. The metabolic pathways involved are oxidation (hydoxylation, )-dealkylation, N-dealkylation) Protein binding: The protein binding of levocetrizine is 96.1% after 1 hour of administration. Excretion: 85.5% of the oral dose is excreted through urine as unchanged drug and 2.4% as metabolite.

Not reported
Pregnancy and lactation:
Not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
