Prophylaxis of clotting in extraporeal circulation during hemodialysis sessions
Adverse Reaction:
Hyperaldosteronism, bleeding, thrombocytopenia, rash, haemotoma and pain at inj site Allergic reactions Osteopaenic effects, increased ALT/AST
Contra-Indications:
Acute inactive endocarditis, haemorrhage or haemostatis disorder, Active peptic ulceration, haemorrhagic cerbrovascular event Severe uncontrolled hypertension, Diabetic retinopathy, injuries to or operations on the CNS , eyes, or ears, History of thrombocytopenia with nadroparin Lactation Not for IM Special precautions- Patients with recent anticipated neuraxial thrombocytopenia, Congenital or drug induced thrombocytopenia or platelet defects, Patients at increased risk of bleedding, Severe hepatic or renal disease Monitor for signs of bleeding
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Prophylaxis of clotting in extraporeal circulation during hemodialysis sessions Unstable angina-
Dosage-
Adult- 86 units/kg SC every 12 hurs for adults for about 6 days Aninitial dose of 86 units .kg may be given IV Low dose aspirin should also be given Subcutaneous prphylaxis of VTE during surgical procedures-
Adult- moderate -risk patients- 2850 units daily for 7 days until the patient is ambulant.
Give the first dose 2-4 hour before surgery.
High -risk patients- 38 units /kg 2 hour before surgery, 12 hiur post-operatively and then daily untikl 3 days after surgery. Increae dose by 50% to 57 units /kg daily.
Total duration f treatment at least 10 days
Thromboembolic disorders- adult- 85 units/kg every 12 hur for upto 10 days or 171 units/kg once daily
Pregnancy and lactation:
Contraindicated for use during pregnancy and lactation. Observe caution.
