Adverse Reaction:
Side effects of Eperisone hydrochloride are very rare. Only a few cases have been observed and none of them were of a serious nature clinically. Observed side effects are excessive relaxation, nausea, anorexia, drowsiness, skin rashes, diarrhoea, indigestion, GI disturbances,insonia, headache, constipation, etc. Non-pigmenting fixed diose eruption is a very rare case associated with eperisone.
Contra-Indications:
Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any ingredients of the drug. Special Precautions- Eperisone should be administerd with care in the patients with a history of hypersentivity and those with hepatic function disorder Important precaution- Weakness, lightheadedness, sleepnessness or other symptoms may occur. In the event of such symptoms, the dosage should be reduced or treatment discontinued. Patients should be cautioned against engaging in potentially hazardous activities requiring alertness, such as operating machinery or driving a car.

Dosage-
The usual adult dosage for oral use is 3 tablets ( 150mg of eperisone hydrochloride ) daily in three divided dose after meals. Dosage may adjusted depending on the patients age and symptoms.
Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology- Eperisone hydrochloride supperesses intercollicular section induced decerebrate rigidity in experimental animals which is produced by different chemicals like oxotremorine, succinylcholine for evaluting new drugs with skeletal muscle relaxant property.

Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy- Safety for use in pregnancy has not been established. Eperisone hydrochloride should be used in pregnant women or women suspected of being pregnant, if expected therapeutic benefits are evaluted to outweigh the possible risk of of treatment. Lactation- It is advisable to avoid the administration of eperisone hydrochloride to nursing mothers. It it must be used at such times, breast feeding- should be discontinued during treatment. Pediatric use- Safety in children has not been established Use in Elderly- Since the elderly often have a physiological hypofunctoon, it is advisable to take measures such as reduction in dosage under careful supervision.
