Indication:
Allergic Conjuntivitis
Adverse Reaction:
Adverse reactions reported in less than 5% of the cases
Abnormal dreams, asthenia, bad tastse in the mouth, blurred vision, burning or stinging ,
corneal infiltrates, corneal staining, dermatitis, discomfort, dry eye, foreign body sensation,
hypermia, keratitis, pruritus, rhinitis, sinusitis and tearing
Contra-Indications:
Hypersensitivity to the solution
Special Precautions/ Warning-
Administration- emedastine difumarate is for topical use only and not for injection or for
oral use.
Pregnancy - this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.
Lactation- caution should be excercised when emedastine difumerate is administered
to a nursing women.
Children- safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients less than 3 years of age have not been studied
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indication-
Allergic Conjuntivitis
Dosage-
Recommended dose is 1 drop in the affected eye up to 4 times a day
Patient Information:
1. To prevent contaminating the dropper tip and solution care should be taken not to touch
the eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip of the bottle.
2. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
3. Do not use if the solution become discoloured
4. Patients should be adviced not to wear a contact lens if their eyes is red.
5. Emedastine difumarate should not be used to treat contact lens related irritation
6. Patients who wear contact lens and whose eyes are not red, should wait for at least
10 minutes after instilling emedastine difumarate before they insert their contact lenses.
Pregnancy and lactation:
Pregnancy -
This drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed.

to a nursing women.
