Indication:
Excessive bleeding from systemic hyperfibrinolysis and urinary fibronolysis.

Adverse Reaction:
Rapid IV administration can cause hypotension,bradycardia, arrhythmias and convulsions. Thrombosis.
Thrombi formed during drug treatment are not lysed.
Nausea,abdominal cramps,
diarrhoea,nasal stuffiness,
Rash,headache,dizziness,
diuresis,tinnitus,conjuntival suffusion
Rarely myopathy and muscle necrosis.
Contra-Indications:
Evidence of active intramuscular clotting process
.Pregnancy
Special precautions:
Establish firm diagnosis of hyperfibronolysis before therapy.
Avoid rapid IV administration. Impaired renal, cardiac or hepatic function.
Monitor extent of fibrolysis during treatment Monitor CPK .
Pregnancy Children
Renal failure,cardiac disorders.
Contains benzyl alcohol which is associated with gasping syndrome in premature neonates
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Excessive bleeding from systemic hyperfibrinolysis and urinary fibronolysis.
Dosage:
Initial dosage of 5g orally or IV,followed by 1 to 1.25g hourly to sustain a plasma level of 0.13mg/ml administration of more than 30g/24 hours is not recommended.

1. Allergies- Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reactions to antifibrinolytic agents.Tell your doctor if you are allergic to any substances such as foods, preservatives or dyes.
2. Pregnancy- These medicines have not beenn given to pregnant women without causing birth defects or other medical problems
3. Breast feeding- these medicines have not been treported to cause problems in nursing babies. Small amounts of tranexamic acid pass into breast milk.
4. Children- these medicines are not expected to cause different side effects or problems in children than adults
5. Elderly- These medicines are not expected to cause different side effects or problems in older people than younger adults
6. Other medicines- tell your doctor if you are taking any other prescription or non-prescription ( OTC ) medicines
7. Other medical problems- tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems- Blood clots or a history of medical problems caused by blood clots or Blood in the urine or Colour vision problems or Heart disease or Kidney disease or Liver disease - the chance of side efects may be increased
8. Missed dose- For aminocaproic acid- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible However if you not remember until it is time for the next dose, double the next dose. Then go back to your regular dosing schedule For transexamic acid- If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as possible Then take any remaining dose for the dayat regularly spaced times. Do not double doses.
9. Storage - Keep out of reach of children. Store away from heat or direct sunlight. Do not store the capsule in bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in other damp places.
10. Outdated medicines - Do not keep outdated medicine or medicine no longer needed. Be sure that any discarded medicine is out of reach of children.

Pharmacology/ Pharmacokinetics:
Pharmacology:
Inhibits fibrinolysis via inhibition of plasminogen activator substances and to a lesser degree, through antiplasmin activity.
Pharmacokinetics:
The drug is absorbed rapidly following oral administration.Peak plasma occurs 0.75 to 1.65 hours after an oral dose. A single IV dose has a duration of action of less than 3 hours.

Safety for use during pregnancy has not been established. Use in women of childbearing potential and particularly during early pregnancy only when needed and when the potential benefits outweigh the hazards to the fetus.
