PLACENTA EXTRACT- INDICATIONS
The Drug Controller of India (DGCI) has reduced the use of placenta extract (PLACENTREX)
for two disorders-
Topical application for wound healing and injectable formulation for Pelvic Inflammatory
disorder (PID). Earlier it was widely being promoted for vitiligo.
The producers are required to keep meticulous details of origin of placents used
as a raw material to ensure that it is free from HIV, HBsAG, HCV and other viruses. (MIMS)
