Adverse Reaction:
Most frequent adverse reactions-
Suppine and sitting hypertension, paresthesia, and pruritus
mainly of the scalp, goosebumps, chills, urinary urge, urinary retention,and urinary frequency
Less frequent adverse reactions-
headache, feeling of pressure or fullness in the head, vasodilation/flushing face,
confusion/ thinking abnormalites, dry mouth, nervousness/anxiety and rash
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indication-
Orthostatic hypotension
Dosage-
Recommended dose is 10mg 3 times daily
A suggested dosing schedule- at 4 hour intervals as follows-
shortly before or upon arising in the morning
midday,and late afternoon ( not later than 6 pm )
Doses may be given at 3 hour intervals to control symptoms but not more frequently
Patient Information:
1. Patients should be told that certain agents in the over- the- counter products such as cold remedies
and diet aids can elevate blood pressure and should be used cautiosly with midorine
2. Patients should be told to avoid taking dose if they are are to be supine for any length of time
3. They should take their last daily dose of midorine 3 to 4 hours before bedtime to minimize
supine hypertension
