Adverse Reaction:
Use of large amounts of clobetasol propionate over very large areas of the body can lead to sufficient systemic absorption to produce adrenal suppression.
Cushings syndrome diabetes and hypertension.
Perioral dermititis, striae especially in flexures.
Dermal & epidermal atrophy especially on the face, steroid purpura.
Contra-Indications:
Not recommended for children below 12 years.
Risasea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis.
Primary cutaneous viral infections.
Lesions infected with bacteria or fungi.Hypersens.
Special precautions:
In long therpy evaluate for evidence of HPA axis supression. Discontinue if irritation occurs. Should not enter eyes.
If infection exists, treat with specific anti-infectives.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
For plaque psoariasis
Indication-
Relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestations of corticosteroid- responsive dermatoses
Dosage-
Apply sparingly to affected areas 2 to 4 times daily
