Azole anti-fungals include- Fluconazole, Itraconazole, Ketoconazole, Miconazole, Terconazole

Miconazole +
Cisapride- Ketoconazole inhibits the metabolism of cisapride, resulting in a mean eightfold increase in cisaprides AUC, prolongation of QT interval on the ECG may occur . Concurrent use is contraindicated
Indication:
Severe fungal infections
Adverse Reaction:
Anaphylactic reaction and cardiac arrest(I/V therapy). Nausea, vomiting, febrile reactions, rash, drowsiness, diarrhoea, anorexia and flushing. I/V administration: Cardiac arryhthmias, phelbitis, pruritis.
Topical(cream & pessaries): Local irritation and sensitivity contact dermatitis.
Contra-Indications:
Hypersens to the drug.
Special precautions:
Discontinue if sensitization or irritation.

Dosage:
Adult- 1800 to 3600mg 3 to 4 divided doses daily
Children- less than 1 year old -15 to 30mg/kg/day
Children- more than 1 year upto 12 years- 20 to 40mg/kg/day..

1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
miconazole. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic
to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Miconazole topical preparations have not shown to cause birth defects or
other problems in humans.
3. Breast-feeding-
Miconazole topical preparations have not been reported to cause problems
in nursing babies.
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of topical miconazole
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to cause
different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of miconazole in the
elderly with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to cause
different side effects or problems in older people than it does in adults.
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine that is to be applied to the same area of
the skin.
