Contra-Indications:
Severe bone-marrow suppression, severe anemia,
WBC count < 3000/mm3 or platelet count < 100,000/mm3

Regular monitoring of uric acid concentration, blood counts, renal
and hepatic function is recommended
Prior irradiation therapy

Indication-
Malingancies
Dosage-
Adult- treatment of chronic myeloid leukamia-
20-30 mg/kg/day in single doses
Treatment of solid tumors-
Single doses of 80mg/kg/day every 3rd day .
If used in radiotherapy , treatment should be started 7 days before initiation of therapy
Single sickness disease-
Adult- 15mg/kg/day every 12 week according to response and blood counts
Max- 35mg/kg/day daily
child- 1-18 yr 10-20mg/kg /day. Increased by 5mg/kg/day every 12 weeks according
to response and blood counts
Essential thrombocytomia-
15mg/kg/day . Adjust subsequent based on platelet counts
Pregnancy and lactation:
Use contraindicated . Observe caution if use required
