Colistin + Neomycin + Hydrocholrocortisone - Otic
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
related antibiotics such as amikacin, colistin by mouth or by injection , gentamicin
kanamycin, neomycin by mouth or by injection, netlimicin,paromomycin, polymixin B,
streptomycin, or tobramycin.
Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are allergic to any other
substances such as thimerosol or other preservatives.
2.Pregnancy-
Colistin, neomycin and hydrocortisone otic have not been reported to cause
problems in humans
3. Breast-feeding-
Colistin, neomycin and hydrocortisone otic have not been reported to cause
problems in nursing babies
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing the use of this medicine
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
Many medicines have not been studied specifically in older people. Therefore,
it may not be known whether they work exactly the same way they do in
younger adults, or if they cause different side effects or problems in older people.
Although there is no specific information comparing use of this combination in the
elderly with use in other age groups this medicine is not expected to cause
different side effects or problems in older people than it does in younger adults.
6. Other medicines-
Although certain medicines should not be used together at all, in other cases two
different medicines may be used together even if an interaction might occur.
In such cases your doctor may want to change the dose, or other precautions
may be necessary.
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine that is to used in the ear.
7. Other medical problems-
The presence of other medical problems may affect the use of colistin,
neomycin and hydroccortisone combination .
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Other ear infection or problems including punctured ear drum - use of this
combination may make the condition worse or may increase the chance
of side effects
Herpes simplex- use of hydrocortisone may make the condition worse.
