PHENOLSULFONPHTHALEIN - Diagnostic
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
phenosulfonphthalein . Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are
allergic to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Studies have not been done in humans or animals.
3. Breast-feeding-
It is not known whether phenosulfonphthalein passes into breast milk. This
medicine is not expected to cause problems in nursing babies.
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of phenosulfonphthalein
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to
cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older Adults-
There is no specific information comparing use of phenosulfonphthalein
in the elderly with use this medicine is not expected to cause different
side effects in older patients than in younger adults.
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any of the following -
Aspirin or
Atropine or
Diuretics or
Penicillins or
Probenecid or
Sulfinpyrazone or
Sulfonamides - use of any of these medicines at the same time as
phenolsulfonphthalein may affect the test results
7. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Gout or
Liver disease or
Multiple myeloma - these conditions may affect how fast the body gets
rid of phenolsulonphthalein
Heart or blood vessels or
Kidney disease - patients with these conditions are at a greater risk of
becoming ill because of the large amounts of liquids that must be
taken for this test
