PODOPHYLLUM- Topical
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
podophyllum or benzoin. Also tell your healthcare care professional
if you are allergic to any other substances such as foods. preservatives
or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Topical podophyllum is absorbed through the skin. It should not be used
during pregnancy, since it may cause birth defects or harmful effects during
fetus.
3. Breast-feeding-
Topical podophyllum is absorbed through the skin. Mothers who are taking
this medicine and who wish to breast feed should discuss this with their doctor.
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of podophyllum
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of podophyllum
in the elderly with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause any diifferent side effects than it does in younger adults
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
7. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Crumbling or bleeding warts or warts that have recently had surgery on
them- using podophyllum on these warts may increase the chance of
absorption of the medicine through the skin.
