Adverse Reaction:
Acute renal failure. G.I.disturbances, headache, rashes, liver function abnormalities, haemolytic anaemia, methaeglobulinanaemia, discoloration of urine and other body fluids, staining of contact lens.
Patient Information:
1. May cause GI upset; take after meals.
2. May cause a reddish-orange discolouration of the urine and may stain fabric.
This is not abnormal and represents no cause for alarm. Staining of contact
lens have also occured.
3. Do not use long-term to treat undiagonised urinary tract pain. This product
treats painful symptoms but not the source or cause of pain.

PHENAZOPYRIDINE - Systemic
1.Allergies-
Tell your doctor if you have ever had any unusual or allergic reaction to
phenazopyridine. Also tell your healthcare care professional if you are
allergic to any other substances such as foods. preservatives or dyes.
2.Pregnancy-
Phenazopyridine has not been studied in pregnant women. However,
this medicine has not been shown to cause birth defects or other
problems in animal studies
3. Breast-feeding-
It is known whether phenazopyridine passes into breast milk. However,
this medicine has not been reported to cause problems in nursing babies
4.Children-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of phenozopyridine
in children with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected
to cause different side effects or problems than it does in adults.
5.Older adults-
Although there is no specific information comparing use of phenazopyridine
in the elderly with use in other age groups, this medicine is not expected to
cause different side effects or problems in older people than it does in
younger adults
6. Other medicines-
Tell your doctor if you are using any other prescription or non-prescription
(Over-the counter) OTC medicine.
7. Other medical problems-
Make sure you tell your doctor if you have any other medical problems
especially-
Glucose-6 -phosphate - G6PD deficiency or
Hepatitis or
Kidney disease - the chance of side effects may be increased
