Drug Interaction:
Nitrates include Erythrityl tetranitrate, Isosorbide dinitrate, Isosorbide mononitrate, nitroglycerin , pentraerythritrol tetranitrate, glyceryl trinitrate Refer - Isorbide 5- mononitrate
Orthostatic hypotension with Cal chanl blkrs,antihypertensives,phenothiazines and tricyclic antidepressants.Severe hypotension and collapse with alcohol. Enhances bioavialability of dihydroergotamine.
Indication:
Prophylaxis of angina
Adverse Reaction:
Rash,headache,GI upsets,orthostatic hypotension,flushing,dizziness.False reduction in serum cholestrol estimations.
Contra-Indications:
Severe hypotension, hypovalemia, marked anaemia, constrictive pericarditis, raised intracranial pressure due to trauma/cerbral haemorrhage. Special precautions: Closed angle glaucoma, impaired renal/hepatic function, hypothyroidism, hypothermia.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
