Adverse Reaction:
Most common- nausea, dizziness, or lightheadedness, vomiting, euphoria
GI - constipation, cramps, abdominal distress, anorexia, diarrhea, dry mouth, taste alteration
CNS- sedation, headache, weakness or faintness, depression, disturbed dreams, insomnia, syncope, hallucinaton, tremor, instabilty, irritability, excitement, tinnitus, disoreientation, confusuin
Ophthalmic- blurred vision, focusing difficulty, nystagmus, diplopia, miosis
Hypersensitivity - edema of thed face, sweating, anaphylactic reaction, rash, urticaria
Dermatologic- soft tissue induration, nodules, cutaneous depression, ulceration, severe sclerosis, of the skin, subcutaneous tissues and rarely , underlyng muscle at the inj site, diaphoresis, stinging om injection, flushed skin, dermatitis, pruritus, toxic epidermal necrolysis
Cardiovascular - hypotension, decrease in blood pressure, tachycardia, circulatory depression, shock, hypertension
Respiratory - respiratory depresion, dyspnea, transcient apnea in newborns whose mothers received parentral penrazocaine during labor.
Hematologic- depression of white blood cells (especially granulocytes) usually reversible , moderate transcient eosinophillia
Miscellaneous - urinary retention, parathesia chills, neuromuscular and psychiatric muscle tremors, alterations in rate or strength of uterine contrations during labour ( parentral form )
