Tacrine has the potential to interfere with activity of anticholinergics medications
Indication:
Adjunct in treatment of Parkinsonism.
Adverse Reaction:
Arrhythmias.A.V.dissolution,multiple ventricular ectopics.
Dry mouth, blurring of vision, constipation, urinary retension, glaucoma, confusion, drowsiness, reslessness, hallucinations.
Eye drops: Prolonged administration may cause local irritation, hyperemia, oedema., conjuntivitis, increased intraoccular pressure.
Contra-Indications:
Patients with closed angle glaucoma,chronic pulmonary disease,sick sinus syndrome, throtoxicosis, cardiac failure with tachycardia.
Special precautions:
Glaucoma,obstructive disease of g.i. or g.u. tracts.In elderly males with possible prostrate hypertrophy.
Dosages/ Overdosage Etc:
Indications:
Adjunct in treatment of Parkinsonism.
Dosage:
Initially administer 1 to 2 mg the first day. Increase by 2 mg increments at intervals of 3 to 5 days, until a dosage of 6 to 10 mg is given in divided doses..
